An analysis which assesses the contribution of microlayer and bubble interface evaporation on growth rate is undertaken. The results of a digital computation are presented to indicate that after the asymptotic bubble growth occurs, the predominaht contribution to bubble volume is due to evaporation from the liquid microlayer. The results illustrate that vapor bubble growth predictions based upon liquid microlayer evaporation are similar to existing theory and that microlayer evaporation may represent the major portion of vapor volume in a bubble nucleated at a heated surface.
