摘要

A linearized approximation to the coupled momentum and energy equations is solved to obtain solutions for the developing forced and free convective flows between two vertical parallel plates subject to uniform heat flux thermal boundary condition. The transition length as well as the point at which the velocity profiles first develop a point of inflexion are obtained as a function of appropriately defined Rayleigh and Reynolds numbers. The developing section friction factors are also evaluated.
