摘要

Results of numerical solution of equations describing the process of natural convection in porous medium are given. A limiting model of two-dimensional steady-state convection in finely porous medium following Darcy linear law is discussed. Annular layers of the material with interconnected pores which can be used for heat insulation are studied. The boundaries are maintained at fixed and different temperatures and are considered impermeable.
The report provides information about temperature distributions in the layer, stream line patterns and local and integral characteristics of heat transfer. Solutions were obtained for various filtration Rayleigh numbers 10 ≤ Ra ≤ 1000 and various dimensions of the annular layer 1.01 ≤ r2/r1 ≤ 8.
