摘要

The problem considered in this paper is the determination of the heat transfered to an emitting and absorbing gray gas of uniform absorptivity under a combined influence of radiation and free convection in two-dimensional vertical parallel plates. In the analysis, a formulation of the interaction of radiation and free convection in an emitting and absorbing medium is made by a non-linear integro-differential equation. The calculations are performed by including the effects of transport properties and density as variable parameters. The analytical results are examined by experiments in an atmosphere of carbon dioxide for two-dimensional vertical parallel plates heated at temperatures between 500°K and 950°K.
