摘要

The paper suggests the method of calculation of radiative heat transfer in spectral lines, where the absorption coefficient strongly depends upon frequency and temperature. Diffusion approximation (which is the first member of the method of spherical harmonics) compares with the exact solution for the slab.
The paper also suggests a method of averaging the absorption coefficient. Calculations for the argon line and the rule of handling the system of lines are also discussed.
The obtained method is applied in for calculations of radiation transfer for an electric arc in the turbulent argon flow.
