摘要

The use of a constant-temperature anemometer for measurements in nonisothermal flows is frequently difficult because of the dependence of the anemometer response on the temperature of the medium. This dependency is generally greater for liquids than gases. In the present paper, a systematic procedure which compensates for the ambient temperature drift is reported for both the anemometer and linearizer responses. New expressions are derived for both normal (90°) and slanted (45°) film probes operating in the constant-temperature mode. The correction equations are based on Kramers cooling law for normal probes and a recently developed cooling law for 45° -slanted probes. The correction equations are valid for a wide range of ambient temperature variations and in cases where the fluid properties are strong functions of temperature. Example results are presented based on measurements in water.
