摘要

A series of systematic experiments were conducted to identify the effects of tube diameter, specifically of its decrement, on the critical heat flux (CHF) and the heat transfer coefficient in a film boiling range. The working fluid used for the tests was Freon R113, which was made to flow alternately through tubes of 0.5mm, 1mm and 3mm in inner diameter under a pressure of 1.1 to 2.4 MPa, at a subcooling level of 50 to 80 K and at a mass flux of 1~3 × IO4 kg/m2s. Under these conditions, even with no stepwise discontinuity in the boiling curve, the heat transfer coefficients showed a distinct peak near the departure from nucleate boiling (DNB) point as the wall heat flux increased. On the whole, a decrease in tube diameter resulted in higher CHF and greater film boiling heat transfer coefficients.
