摘要

The combustion of a diesel spray is highly influenced by the spray formation near the nozzle and subsequent vaporization of the droplets. Hence a deeper understanding of the coupled momentum, heat and mass transfer processes between the liquid phase and the surrounding gas is necessary before measures can be taken to improve the combustion.
Numerical results based on a finite difference solution of the conservation equations for an n-heptane spray in a high-temperature high-pressure atmosphere are presented. The predicted values are compared to experimental results evaluated from spray photography and Laser-Doppler-Anemometry.
