摘要

Experiments were performed to determine the local heat transfer coefficient distribution for a submerged liquid jet impinging perpendicularly on a small, square heat source. An axisymmetric jet of FC-77 (Pr = 25.3) is considered with the outflow confined to a narrow channel. The jet diameter-based Reynolds numbers ranged from 8500 to 23000 while the nozzle-to-target spacing was varied from 1 to 10 nozzle diameters. The local heat transfer coefficients were mapped over a radius of up to four jet diameters from the stagnation point for different heat flux levels. Area-averaged heat transfer coefficients were also obtained. The average and stagnation-point values, as well as other features of the heat transfer coefficient distribution, are compared for two jets of different diameters. The present results compare favorably with similar studies in the literature.
