摘要

A numerical model is presented to analyze a two-dimensional, time-dependent process in a melting snowcover with the underlying soil layer that is permeable and initially frozen. Focus is on developing a practical yet physically rigorous method to analyze flow fingering phenomena occurring in a heterogeneous snow cover with ice lenses. The model divides a unit snowpack into a heterogeneous domain with specified ice lenses and a homogeneous domain with initially uniform properties. Appropriate boundary conditions at the boundaries of two domains and that with the underlying soil are developed. Typical results and a preliminary parametric study are shown.
