摘要

The paper describes a model for finned tube air coolers of indirect refrigerating systems (with a secondary coolant in the tube side), operating under frosted surface conditions. The model considers the transient heat and mass transfer between humid air and air cooler surfaces. Further the transport phenomena to fins and tube wall are considered separately to take into account the difference in transfer rates. The model is coupled with an optimization programme based on Monte Carlo methods to optimize the relevant design parameters. The optimization procedure is demonstrated.
