摘要

We use evolutionary algorithms to find correlations that can predict the performance of a fin-tube compact heat exchanger. Several heat transfer correlations are proposed, and a genetic algorithm is developed to determine the constants in these correlations to enable the closest fit to experimental data. The algorithm looks at a population of possible parameter values and from that creates a newer generation that has a better chance of fitting the data, and so on through successive generations. It is shown that, for the power law, the variance of the error can have several minima, from which the algorithm searches for the global. The predictions of various three- and four-constant correlations are compared.
