摘要

A Constrained Vapor Bubble (CVB) formed in a cavity partially filled with liquid is a miniature passive heat transfer device capable of high thermal conductance. Interfacial forces recirculate the condensate on the solid surface containing the vapor bubble. Experiments were conducted at higher heat loads than those previously reported on a relatively simple pen-tane/fused silica CVB to obtain the fundamental operating parameters, i.e., temperature, pressure and liquid film curvature. An "intermediate" section with a large effective axial thermal conductivity was identified wherein the temperature remains nearly constant. The effects of heat load and inclination angle on the overall thermal conductance of the CVB were investigated.
