摘要

An experimental investigation on heal transfer characteristics of natural convection above a circular disk having 15 simulated healing chips has been performed. A scries of parametric studies are systematically conducted. From the present study, the temperature distribution on the heated disk is a bell-shaped profile, where the highest point is at the center of the disk and the lowest one is nearby the rim of the disk. In contrast, the distribution of local Nusselt number is a bowl-shaped profile, where the lowest value is at the center of the disk and the highest value is nearby the rim of the disk. Besides, two new empirical correlations of Nusselt number in terms of average temperature excess and Grashof number are proposed to evaluate average Nusselt number on a horizonal circular disk heated with 15 simulated chips. The average and maximum deviations of using the proposed correlation from the experimental data are 0.65% and 1.55%, respectively.
