Abstract

The effect of thermal intraconduction in Hasche tile configurations is investigated by mathematical simulation. A numerical solution of this model employing central-difference and Crank-Nicolson approximations of the partial differential equations is presented. Convergence of the numerical analysis is checked by the Schumann model. A parametric investigation is employed to obtain a critical value of a dimensionless group, which defines the limiting range of applicability of the model. Critical values of dimensionless groups are presented which allow Hasche tiles to be designed, such that under the specified operating conditions, the overall heat transfer is free of thermal conduction effects.
