Abstract

The mechanism of heat transfer crisis in steam generating channels is dependent on the flow pattern. The analysis of rather simplified models of two-phase flow with separated liquid and vapour phases in the flow core and next to the wall (turbulent flow core and turbulent or laminar wall layer of liquid or vapour, respectively) helps determine the influence of the two-phase flow pattern on the mechanism of boiling crisis and arrive at some quantitative relations between the flow parameters at heat transfer crisis.
