Flow boiling heat transfer data for ethanol, cyclohexane and their mixtures are presented. The boiling curves for the pure fluids and their azeotrope have very steep slopes, while other compositions have much smaller slopes. Present correlation techniques for mixture effects are inconsistent with this observation. Possible reasons for the low heat transfer rates in mixtures are suggested in relation to bubble growth and nucleation.
