The paper briefly surveys some problems of physical gasdynamics which are associated with heat and mass transfer in chemically reactive gas flows. Particular attention is focused on the analysis of the feasibility and outcome of the efforts at effective numerical modeling of the processes of free turbulent mixing with simultaneous combustion reactions in parallel high-temperature gas flows of different compositions including turbulent shear flows of optically inverted media.
