Abstract

In spite of numerous and detailed heat transfer studies in pipe and channel flows, our interest in it is caused by the constant progress of technology. The present review deals with the studies of heat transfer with different boundary conditions, variable physical properties of the fluids involved, and pipe walls of various types of roughness. Also discussed are recent results in heat transfer for turbulent flows in channels of different geometries and with flow acceleration. Physical nature of the phenomena involved in the flow dynamics and heat transfer, is taken as a fundamental basis for the consideration.
