Abstract

The phenomenon of augemented natural convection along vertical submerged condenser surfaces in immersion cooling modules is explored. Experimental results for the augmentation ratio, obtained with three working fluids and two heater configurations, are successfully correlated by use of a non-dimensional temperature difference and a fluid-property augmentation function. The results appear to support a bubble-pumping mechanism for natural convection augmentation.
