Abstract

Experimental results are presented of the heat transfer of in-line banks of tubes (2.0×l.5 and 1.5×2.5) in crossflows of combustion gas and high-temperature air from 1700 to 3500 °K in the range of up to 8×l03 Re. The effects of chemical dissociation and variation of thermophysical parameters on the heat transfer have been determined, in relation with bank arrangement, flow temperature and hydrodynamical factors, and with the variation of the chemical processes. Equations have been derived for the heat transfer, accounting for the chemical kinetics, temperature and hydrodynamics.
