Abstract

Characteristics of the turbulent transfer near the wall are discussed. Stroboscopic vizualization of flow was used in measuring the kinematic characteristics, which permitted one to obtain reliable mean and pulsation values up to dimensionless distances from the wall y+ ~ I . The flow temperature was measured by means of microthermocouples. The turbulent Prandtl number values were determined from the mean velocity and temperature fields as well as τw and qw values. The experiments were carried out with water flow in horizontal rectangular-shape channel with one-side heat supply.
