Abstract

This paper reports the authors' recent research progress on numerical simulation of bubble behaviour in two-phase flow. Novel numerical strategies have been developed to treat the slip-boundary conditions of a nonspherical bubble interface and to predict the terminal shape of a deformable bubble. On this basis, the behaviour of a single gas bubble rising in an unbounded quiescent hot liquid, such as the evolution of bubble shape and the propagation of concentration and temperature fields around the bubble, is studied and simulated numerically.
