Identification of the nucleation probability in undercooled emulsions

Abstract

We present in this paper an inverse method that enables to identify the nucleation probability function J(T) of undercooled droplets, through temperature measurements during a steady cooling. An error calculation gives information about the confidence interval of the solution, according to the uncertainties of all input parameters. Results about the general behaviour of the algorithm are presented in order to better understand the effects of the various parameters. We finally apply this method on experimental data, and we compare the solution with those given by the calorimetric method.
