Three-dimensional unsteady numerical computations were carried out for buoyancy driven convection of an oxide melt (Pr=10) and radiation from the free surface of the fluid in a vertical cylinder (like the Czochralski system just after seeding). The fluid was assumed to be incompressible, Newtonian and Boussinesq. Three-dimensional structures of the non-axisymmetric flow were investigated in the present study. The spoke pattern was formulated due to buoyancy effect.
