Experimental Investigation of the Hydrocarbons Pool Boiling on Porous Structures

Abstract

The experimental data on hydrocarbons pool boiling on surfaces with porous coatings are presented. The boiling curves and heat transfer intensity have been determined for propane. The experimental data for the heat transfer with propane pool boiling on horizontal smooth and porous tubes inside vapor-dynamic thermosyphon and LHP evaporator were obtained for the saturation temperature Ts=-10÷+30 °C and heat input q=0.1-120 kW/m2 (q=0.02-8 kW/m2 for LHP evaporator). Heat transfer enhancement up to 3-5 times was recorded with the heat transfer coefficient up to 30·103 W/(m2 K) to compare with the heat transfer on smooth surfaces.
