Abstract

Experimental research, results of local heat transfer for turbulent gas flow in pipes at high temperature difference are presented in this paper. Measurements have been carried out with three tubes heated by an electrical current. It was nitrogen that was utilized as the heat transfer fluid. Experiments have been made over the range of Reynolds number of 13·103<Re <30O·103 and a temperature ratio of 1 < θ < 6. Experiments showed that the dependence of heat transfer on Reynolds number for different values of θ remains constant, however the influence of θ on heat transfer in its turn greatly depends upon x/d Heat transfer is also influenced by the heat-flux density changes along the pipe and the method of evaluating this effect has been recommended. Experimental data are represented in dimentionless terms and a generalized equation has been proposed.
Comparison of the present data with those of other authors and theory has been made.
