Abstract

Model investigation on local and average heat transfer between the air flow and a single sphere ( at Re = 50 to 105 ) or a sphere located in simple cubic packing ( at Re = 50 to 4.104) and three loose arrays (at Re = 8.103 to 4.104) is reported.
Following results are obtained:
1.Nu=f(Re) experimental relationships for average heat transfer and every array;
2.Single general relationship Nu=f(Re, ε) for average heat transfer and for all arrays used (ε-porosity of the system);
3.The diagrams of local heat transfer around the sphere equator. The qualitative physical explanation of the present data is given.
