HEAT TRANSFER OP TWO CYLINDERS DIFFERENTLY LOCATED IN A CROSS FLUID FLOW
Abstract
Experimental results on the heat transfer and fluid dynamics on two cylinders are presented. The experiments were performed at the angle of stagger from 0° to 90° in the range of Re from 4·104 to 106 and for dimensionless spacings between the two cylinders x/d from 1.15 to 3.0. Dynamic behaviour of the front stagnation point, distribution of pressure on the two cylinders, pressure drag and lift coefficients local and average heat transfer coefficients were determined. A relation between the average heat transfer of the two cylinder and β was found. In contrast to fluid dynamics over the upstream cylinder, its heat transfer is hardly related to β. Most evident changes of fluid dynamics and thermal dynamics occur at short distances x/d and small angles β.
