Abstract

The report presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies on increasing the heat exchange rate at condensation and evaporation of liquid in a flowing-down film. The effect of surface tension forces at condensation on finned surfaces and of swirling of the vapor flow at condensation of a moving vapor, rotation of the heat exchange surface, arrangement of condensation on a rotating coolant film, stimulation of a drop-wise condensation within horizontal tubes on the condensation process rate are discussed. Increasing the rate of evaporation of a liquid film is attained by the use of shaped tubular surfaces as well as by arrangement of the process on a rotating surface.
