LIQUID CRYSTALS EXPERIMENTS AND NUMERICAL PREDICTIONS OF HEAT CONDUCTION AROUND A LIQUID COOLED ELECTROMAGNETIC DIPOLE
Abstract
A water cooled electromagnetic applicator has been built in laboratory for intracavitary hyperthermic uses. The temperature distribution produced in a polyacrilamide dissipative medium has been visualized with a liquid crystals sheet. A complete electromagnetic and heat transfer model has predicted the temperature distribution with a good agreement to the experimental data.
