Abstract

A numerical and experimental investigation of the frequency response of a transient two-phase condensing flow has been carried out. The analysis of the transient condensing flow considers the effects of pressure variations, vapor compressibility, virtual mass effects and the coolant flow conditions. Frequency responses of void fraction along with outlet mass flow rate induced by oscillatory inlet pressure, inlet mass flow rate and coolant flow rate are analyzed. Comparisons of the present model with experimental data show good agreement.
