SUCTION EFFECT OF A VERTICAL COATED PLAIN POROUS LAYER ON FILM CONDENSATION HEAT TRANSFER ENHANCEMENT

Abstract

A model for filmwise condensation heat transfer enhancement on a vertical plate surface coated with a porous layer was presented by considering the transverse suction effect at the porous layer interface. The numerical investigation has examined the influences of the porous layer characteristic parameters on the condensation heat transfer. It is revealed that the interfacial suction effect of the porous layer takes an important parts in enhancing filmwise condensation heat transfer.
