Abstract

The present study deals with numerical prediction of turbulent flow and heat transfer in rotating drum of a drying machine. The axis of rotation is parallel to the axis of drum, the flow enters across the permeable wall of drum and goes out across another permeable wall of different size. The drums wall are smooth, of finite length and the walls exchange with the external air with a constant convective coefficient. The drum rotating has little influence on the air flow but changes the heat transfer in different part of drum. The textile is modelling as flat plate and so to define more exactly characteristics of heat and mass exchange experiments were conducted in aerodynamic installation of the open type. The calculation of process of drying were effected with the use of one-dimensional unstationary equations describing the process of mutual heat and mass exchange with using model witch consider as desorption process for all stages of drying.
