Abstract

Although the periodic micro structure etched on a metal plate realizes a large emissivity near the resonance wavelength of a cavity resonator, a long developing time is required to build the micro structure with a large area. In this study, a periodic micro structure of the cubic cavity of 6.0 micro meters in width, 6.0 micro meters in depth and 6.0 micro meters in height is built on a ultra violet curable resin by the UV nano-imprint method. The gold film of 200 nano meters thick is sputtered on the periodic micro structure. Once a mold is built, a number of the micro structures are produced as affixed a seal for a short developing time. The hemispherical spectroscopic transmittance and reflectance are measured using a Fourier transform infrared spectrometer with an integrating sphere. The hemispherical spectroscopic transmittance is 0.0 in the whole range from 2 to 15 micro meters. The hemispherical spectroscopic reflectance is 1.0 in the range from 2 to 8 micro meters from 12 to 15 micro meters. The bottom of the hemispherical spectroscopic reflectance is 0.4 near 10 micro meters. Assuming Kirchhoff's law, the maximum normal emissivity of the periodic micro structure is 0.6 near 10 micro meters. It is known that the normal emissivity of a gold plate without micro structures is about 0. It is clarified that the periodic microcavities with a gold film built via UV nanoimprinting and sputtering can enhance maximum spectral emissive power of radiation and can control the wavelength of radiation.
