Abstract

In this study, we fabricated PEDOT-PSS thin films mixed with 3 − 5 vol. % of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) or ethylene glycol (EG). We then heated the films using periodic laser heating and measured their in-plane and cross-plane thermal diffusivities. We also measured how their thermal conductivity depended on film thickness, temperature, and dispersion. The in-plane thermal conductivities of the EG-mixed films we measured were higher than those of the DMSO-mixed films. In contrast, the cross-plane thermal conductivities of the EG-mixed and DMSO-mixed films were similar. The in-plane thermal conductivities were higher than the cross-plane thermal conductivities. These results suggest that the thermal transport properties of the PEDOT-PSS film are anisotropic and affected by dispersion.
