Abstract

The finite volume integral method (FVIM) is used to solve the transient two-dimensional direct heat conduction problem (DHCP). The mathematic model of inverse heat conduction problem (IHCP) is established by using the conjugate gradient method (CGM). The temperature fluctuations of the outer wall surface obtained by solving the DHCP are used as the known conditions of the IHCP to estimate the inner wall temperature fluctuations. The calculation programs are written in C programming languages. To check the accuracy of estimations, three types of wall temperatures were solved. And the random measurement errors are introduced to investigated the influence of measurement errors on the accuracy of inversion results. The calculation results and the comparison analysis shown that when the random errors are small, the mathematical model can accurately inverse the temperature of each node in the inner wall of the two-dimensional pipe. With the random errors increasing, the inversion errors also increase.
