Abstrakt

The simulation of flow-boiling crisis requires geometric and dynamic similitudes. The dynamic similitude implies both hydrodynamic and thermodynamic similitudes. A review of existing simulation technique for boiling crisis reveals that: (1) the coolant properties at critical pressures can represent its thermal behavior at various pressures, (2) the scaling factor is a function of the ratios of the critical properties of both coolants, (3) the scaling factor can be applied to empirical correlations of critical power, enthalpy rise or quality. A new simulating model has been proposed and its validity is demonstrated. The scaling factors for CHF in a rod bundle at various pressures are presented and verified with experimental data.
