Abstrakt

The steady temperature distribution in infinitely long, eccentrically mounted cylinders is analysed in modified bipolar coordinates. Joining and boundary conditions are of the third kind, and may vary circumferentially. Volumetric heat sources may depend on position. The developed analytical method of solution takes advantage of the orthogonality property of circular harmonics, and establishes by its successive use an infinite set of nonhomogeneous linear equations which after appropriate truncation is solved for the unknown coefficients. As example, the container-type reactor fuel element is treated.
