Abstrakt

A single fin in an array of extended surface possesses an exact electrical analog having three resistors arranged in a pi network. This representation is possible because of an important property of the fin known as reciprocity. For analysis of an array of extended surface, the pi networks representing the individual fins are connected in accordance with the manner in which the fins are assembled in the array. Electrical network theory may then be used to yield temperature excesses at all points throughout the array
