Abstrakt

The heat and mass transfer processes induced by laser-fluid interaction are considered and the system of equations governing these processes is analyzed. To describe irradiance propagation, the method of quasi-geometrical optics is employed. The paper presents the results for the effect of thermal blooming on the characteristics of a thermal gas lens. Results are also presented on thermal blooming of a beam propagating in the atmosphere under different conditions and on laser-solid surface interaction.
