Abstrakt

An experimental investigation of heat transfer by natural convection has been carried out using a down-ward facing constant-heat-flux inclined flat place immersed in a tank of water. Local heat transfer data are presented for laminar flow upto Grx* Pr= l012 covering a range of angles of inclination from the vertical to 50 from the horizontal. A simplified theoretical analysis based on integral momentum methods was used to correlate the data. Flow visualization was used to investigate the effects of the finite volume of water and free surface effects on the boundary layer growth.
