Abstrakt

A numerical analysis of the problem of natural convection heat transfer from a short horizontal rectangular fin array in which a single chimney flow pattern occurs, is reported. Results are obtaine over a wide range of the governing parameters for the case of air. Good agreement is obtained with available experimental data. Systematic flow visualisation studies are also carried out on arrays of different sizes with the object of delineating the zone in which the single chimney pattern occurs.
