INCIPIENT SUPERHEAT IN A CONVECTIVE SODIUM SYSTEM
Abstrakt
Experimental measurements are reported for incipient boiling superheats in a convective sodium system. The results show that definitive evaluation of the incipient wall superheat requires a knowledge of the location of inception and detection of any entrained noncondensable gas bubbles. It is shown that, when history and gas solubility effects are properly accounted for, a reentrant cavity model is representative of the data.
