CORRELATION DESCRIPTION OF A TEMPERATURE FIELD IN INHOMOGENEOUS TURBULENCE
Abstrakt
A correlation model is suggested which describes the main statistical properties of a temperature field in a turbulent incompressible liquid flow with arbitrary Prandtl numbers. The suggested system of differential equations describing a random temperature field is closed within two statistical coefficients. Determination of the numerical value of the second factor is dealt with in the experimental part of the present paper. The experiments have been carried out under conditions of homogeneous nonisotropic turbulence in the presence of an axisymmetric temperature field. Two-point velocity and temperature fluctuation correlations were measured with transformation of analog signals in a digital form and their statistical treatment on an electronic digital computer. A relationship between the statistical coefficients of interest and Pecklet number based on the intensity of turbulence and temperature microscale has been obtained experimentally.
