This paper highlights the primary results concerning research into a blade cyclone cooling carried out by the United Kingdom and Ukrainian teams. The overall research program covers two-dimensional, quasi twodimensional, and three-dimensional cyclone cooling configurations. Both experimental and theoretical approaches are employed to evaluate a local heat transfer and pressure losses, flow and temperature fields, thermal-hydraulic performance. The general correlation on an average heat transfer in two-dimensional and quasi two-dimensional cyclone chamber has been obtained, based on a summarizing of published data.
