Abstrakt

A finite element technique is described to determine the wall shear stresses and the axial temperature gradient for hydraulically and thermally fully developed laminar flow in concentric annuli with prescribed uniform heat fluxes at the walls. The wall shear stresses and the axial temperature gradient are obtained as part of the primary solution. The technique is used to determine the friction factors and the Nusselt numbers for annuli with a range of inner to outer radius ratios. The values are in very good agreement with the corresponding values quoted in the literature.
