Abstrakt

This paper presents an experimental study on the heat transfer of a gas-solid suspension impinging jet to clarify the mechanisms of heat transfer enhancement near the stagnation point. The effects of the sizes and thermal properties of solid particles as well as the loading ratio on heat transfer were examined; the fine particles of graphite, talcum and glass were used.
A heat transfer model to explain the influence of heat capacity of solid particles is proposed. By using the remodified Stanton number, the contribution made to a transport of heat by the heat capacity of a particle was clarified. The heat quantity conducted through the contact area from the heated surface to a particle during its contact period was estimated by measuring the pressure of the impinging particle. It is confirmed that the effect of disturbing the viscous sublayer with the particle suspension augments the heat transfer near a stagnation point to a certain extent but the enhancement approaches an asymptotical value with increasing the loading ratio.
