Abstrakt

In this study we analyze the water movement due to a low heat gradient (thermal migration). The equations governing the coupled heat and mass transfer are solved numerically in ID horizontal case. The porous media are homogeneous or constituted of layers of two sands (medium M and fine F). The results corresponding to the layered medium are compared to those of the homogeneous one. We analyze in each case if the thermal migration is advantageous or no.
