Abstrakt

The report presents a general analysis of the local heat transfer in transitional flow over the elements of surface roughness. The re-attachment heat-transfer rate behind a separate element is used as reference for its values in the relaxation and recirculation regions. A close relation between the heat-transfer behaviour and the vortical structure is shown. The latter is basically determined for the transitional flow regime by the Reynolds number of roughness, h+ = hu*/ν .
Also the generation of three-dimensional vortices as a control instrument of the transition processes including the heat transfer is considered. The range of transition-mode effect of surface roughness may be extended maintaining a high augmentation rate of heat transfer.
